About The Position

This position involves performing drafting duties under the guidance of a Designer, Lead Project Designer, or Drafting Manager. The CAD Drafter will utilize AutoCAD software to create and revise drawings based on hand sketches from engineers, ensuring compliance with company drafting standards and engineering practices. The role requires generating both scaled and non-scaled drawings, as well as handling printing, plotting, and filing of these documents. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a Windows environment is necessary. The position may involve occasional short-term travel for field data collection and requires the ability to manage high-paced assignments through effective prioritization and planning. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with diverse personnel, including engineers, designers, vendors, and management. The individual must take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of their work and proactively identify and report potential project issues with proposed solutions.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED), Vocational/Technical “Drafting and Design” 2 year Associates Degree or equal: Required
• 0 - 3 year related experience
• Operational knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel & Microsoft Office Outlook in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Nice To Haves

• CADD/Drafting Degree or Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform drafting duties utilizing basic drafting skills and techniques in compliance with company drafting standards.
• Learn and apply the company drafting and engineering practices.
• Perform basic Computer Aided Drafting on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.
• Generate/revise different types of "scaled" and "non-scaled" drawings.
• Handle printing, plotting & filling of drawings.
• Complete high-paced assignments through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and executions of assigned work.
• Communicate effectively with a wide diversity of personnel with varying technical backgrounds including engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
• Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
