About The Position

Acentra Health is looking for a Provider Educator to join our growing team. The Provider Educator plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, person-centered services within the West Virginia Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Waiver (IDDW) Program. This position is responsible for developing, delivering, and monitoring training and technical assistance for waiver providers to promote compliance with Medicaid regulations, the WV IDDW Policy Manual, and best practices in service delivery. The Provider Educator oversees provider contractual requirements to enhance positive relations and manages customer service experience. Additionally, the role involves serving as the provider educational coordinator, focusing on quality improvement initiatives, and staying informed about updates to automated review systems. The IDDW Provider Educator conducts provider reviews (onsite and desk audits), including completing associated reports, and complete special projects as assigned. This position reports to the IDDW Provider Educator Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services Field.
  • Must reside in the State of West Virginia.
  • 3+ years experience with the WV IDDW Program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, virtual training platforms, and (preferably the UMC Web Portal).

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new and existing waiver providers.
  • Educate providers on WV IDDW policies, procedures, and service definitions, including Person-Centered Support Plans (PCSPs), documentation standards, and billing requirements.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual trainings, workshops, and informational sessions on regulatory updates and best practices.
  • Create user-friendly training materials, guides, and job aids aligned with the IDDW Manual.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to providers to ensure understanding and implementation of waiver requirements.
  • Interpret IDDW policies and translate regulatory language into practical, actionable guidance.
  • Respond to provider inquiries regarding compliance, service delivery, documentation, and program expectations.
  • Conduct agency provider reviews (onsite or remote). Complete and submit reports associated with provider reviews including review tools, draft letters, plans of correction, and disallowance reports.
  • Support oversight activities by identifying trends and areas of risk related to provider performance and compliance.
  • Complete inter-rater reliability tasks assigned.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.
