Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 2-5 years of relevant experience, or Bachelors Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Full knowledge of the job. Substantial acquaintance with and understanding of general aspects of the job with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Apply sound knowledge of calibration principles, measurement accuracy, repeatability, traceability, uncertainty, reference standards, test equipment, calibration tolerances, and out-of-tolerance assessment.
  • General supervision and instructions given for routine work and detailed instructions given for new activities or special assignments.
  • Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization. Contact will include area/equipment management. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation as well as coordination of activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration, preventative maintenance and repairs to instrument systems and components of laboratory equipment, production equipment, central utilities and building management.
  • Assist as needed in performing troubleshooting and repairs efforts as assigned.
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems and electronic records to plan, execute, document, and close maintenance, calibration, inspection, and repair activities accurately and on time.
