About The Position

The Hyundai Technician is responsible for performing accurate diagnostics, high‑quality repairs, and factory‑standard maintenance on Hyundai and Kia vehicles. We are specifically seeking experienced technicians with strong Hyundai GDS/M, advanced electrical diagnostics, and Hyundai‑certified or ASE Master Technician‑level skills. This role works closely with Service Advisors, the Parts Department, and Service Management to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and consistent, high‑quality workmanship. The position reports directly to the Service Manager.

Requirements

  • Current Hyundai Master Technician, Hyundai Certified Technician, or ability to obtain certification.
  • 3–5+ years of professional automotive repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting abilities, including CAN bus, OBD‑II, and drivability diagnostics.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a flat‑rate environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications preferred; ASE Master Technician a strong plus.
  • Experience with Hyundai EV and hybrid systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with Hyundai factory standards.
  • Complete warranty and customer‑pay repair orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize Hyundai GDS/M, Hyundai Tech Info, and other factory systems to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
  • Document diagnostic steps, repair procedures, and results clearly on repair orders.
  • Road test vehicles to verify concerns and ensure repair quality.
  • Maintain proper timekeeping and meet productivity expectations in a flat‑rate environment.
  • Use, maintain, and return Hyundai special tools appropriately; maintain personal tool inventory.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and ensure customer vehicles are returned in clean condition.
  • Stay current on Hyundai factory training, TSBs, service campaigns, EV/hybrid systems, and certification requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Service Management.
