About The Position

We are seeking a people-centered, results-driven manager to build, lead, and sustain a high-performing team of Data Center Technicians in a highly competitive talent market. This role is critical to ensure we attract top technical talent, enable their success through strong onboarding and engagement, and retain them through effective leadership, development, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate combines operational rigor, agilely managing ramp up and ramp down for large projects, with strong coaching skills and a passion for creating an environment where technicians can thrive while meeting the evolving and rigorous demands of our customers’ data center operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing, hiring, and retaining technical or operations-focused teams, preferably in data centers or similarly demanding environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage employees in a competitive labor market through strong leadership and communication.
  • Serious attention to detail.
  • Experience with workforce planning, demand forecasting, and resource management in 24/7 or mission-critical operations.
  • Strong coaching and people development skills, with a track record of building sustainable talent pipelines.
  • Data-driven approach to staffing decisions, performance management, and continuous improvement.
  • High degree of ownership, resilience, and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end talent acquisition and management for Data Center Technicians, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, engagement, and retention.
  • Develop and execute creative recruitment strategies to attract scarce technical talent in a competitive marketplace.
  • Build a strong onboarding and training experience that enables new hires to become productive quickly and safely.
  • Manage demand and resource planning and execution to ensure the right skills are available at the right time to meet operational needs.
  • Balance short-term operational requirements with long-term workforce strategy, including succession planning and skills development.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate technicians through clear expectations, regular feedback, career development, and recognition.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, inclusion, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner closely with operations, finance, and engineering teams to align staffing plans with business priorities.
  • Monitor and act on key people metrics such as attrition, engagement, capacity utilization, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards while reinforcing a strong safety-first mindset.
