About The Position

St. Joseph Center is seeking a Hygiene Lead to provide shift-level leadership for shower, restroom, and laundry services at their Care Campus. This role involves daily staff assignments, coverage, participant flow, and ensuring operational readiness. The Hygiene Lead will monitor cleanliness, sanitation, supplies, and equipment, addressing or escalating concerns as needed. A key aspect of the role is supporting safe and respectful participant access to hygiene services, utilizing trauma-informed engagement, de-escalation techniques, and appropriate emergency response. The Lead will also guide Hygiene Specialists, reinforce expectations, support shift handoffs, and coordinate with other campus teams.

Requirements

Experience in homeless services, hygiene services, shelter operations, hospitality, environmental services, facilities-based services, or a related setting preferred.
Prior lead, supervisory, or team-coordination experience preferred.
Experience in a high-volume participant- or customer-facing environment preferred.
Strong organization, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, sanitation/safety awareness, and ability to support frontline staff.

Responsibilities
