About The Position

The Hygiene Faculty - Instructor will promote an atmosphere of respect, collegiality, commitment to diversity and social justice, and a humanistic learning environment. This role involves providing coverage in the Radiology department, acquiring images, and teaching practices to students. The instructor will conduct patient care, teaching, scholarship, and service in support of the mission and goals of ASDOH and ATSU. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care and clinical supervision as a dental hygienist in the CCUs or other ASDOH clinics, and effectively carrying out lectures, teaching Radiology Labs, seminars, preclinical, and clinical assignments. The position also requires participation in committees, faculty governance, professional societies and associations, and community events. Scholarship activities are expected as workload allows, establishing and maintaining activity in the area of expertise. The role involves covering the Radiology department, acquiring images, and teaching practices to students. The instructor will deliver direct dental hygiene services and patient care to patients in the ASDOH clinics. Coordination of care with CCUs and the Assistant/Associate Dean for Clinic Operations is necessary to implement a periodontal maintenance program for ASDOH Predoctoral patients. Interaction with students while performing hygiene duties and simulation of the office practice setting is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

Three to five years' experience in the provision of dental hygiene patient care.
Valid Arizona dental hygiene and local anesthesia license
Must be highly skilled in dental Radiology, dental hygiene, and patient care.
