This role involves performing hydrostatic testing on tanks, which includes plugging openings, filling tanks with water, and applying pressure. The Hydrotester will visually inspect tanks for leaks, mark any identified leaks, and operate hydro test and pneumatic testing equipment safely and properly. Responsibilities also include visually inspecting tank fittings and brackets for proper welds, stamping tested tanks, and recording required tank information on a hydro data sheet. The position requires chipping slag and welding from around fittings and brackets, notifying supervisors of low material stock, and holding necessary welding certifications for repairs. Additionally, the Hydrotester will attach data plates, perform safety checks on testing equipment, maintain paperwork, perform housekeeping duties, and operate material handling equipment like cranes, hoists, and forklifts, completing any required training.
