About The Position

Stantec is seeking a geology, hydrogeology, or engineering intern to support its team of groundwater professionals. The intern will assist with project-level work for environmental remediation and water resource projects, including tasks related to groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, hydrogeologic investigations, model conceptualization, remediation system evaluation, remedial design and maintenance, and statistical analysis of geologic and groundwater chemistry data.

Requirements

• Working toward a BS or MS degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, geological engineering, geochemistry, or a related field.
• Ability to analyze field and technical data, conduct research, apply technical knowledge, and solve problems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and undertake work assignments.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new software programs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including written, verbal, and graphical communication.
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Compile and manage field data for project work.
• Assist with data analysis and visualization using ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
• Assist with analyzing and interpreting environmental and groundwater data.
• Assist with geologic and hydrogeologic research.
• Collaborate with scientific and engineering professionals within the practice.
• Assist with technical report writing.
• Compile data for groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling.
• Assist in preparing soil boring logs and well construction diagrams.
