About The Position

Turner Industries is a fully diversified industrial contractor that provides responsive, innovative solutions to increase plant production, reduce costs, and prevent shutdowns in industries such as petrochemical, refining, energy, and pulp and paper. Turner Specialty Services is looking for a Hydroblasting Crew Leader to join their team in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The Hydroblaster position involves directing blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air or water from a nozzle against metal or hard composite objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart an even finish.

Requirements

High school or equivalent
Minimum three (3) years of experience required
TWIC card required
Basic knowledge of hydro blasting equipment and the hazards associated with
OSHA approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Nice To Haves

May require NCCER certifications at some jobsites

Responsibilities

Directs blasts of abrasive-laden compressed air or water from a nozzle against metal or hard composite objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart an even finish.
Moves controls to adjust pressure and concentration of grit to obtain specified finish.
Wears gloves and a helmet or hood to protect against breathing sand-laden air and to prevent injury to eyes and hands.
May mask areas not being sandblasted.
May order materials as needed.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
