About The Position

Redi Industrial Services, LLC, a leader in the Industrial Services Industry, is seeking a Hydrovac Operator to join their team in Evanston, WY. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with a family-owned company committed to career growth. Safety is a top priority, and the company has exciting plans for 2026. The Hydrovac Operator is responsible for successfully completing hydro excavation processes by operating Hydrovac and other construction machinery to excavate, load, dig, or break materials such as rocks, debris, or dirt. The role also involves acting as a crew leader, ensuring projects are completed safely and on time.

Requirements

  • One (1+) plus years of demonstrated Potholing/Hydro Excavating experience with strong knowledge of underground utilities is required.
  • Two (2+) plus years of demonstrated experience in dry utilities is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A, with airbrake endorsement and tanker endorsement) is required.
  • Candidates must pass the Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Candidates must pass a regulated DOT physical as a requirement of the job.
  • Candidates must pass pre-employment testing.
  • Performing heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
  • Lifting up to 80 lbs. multiple times during a work shift.
  • Climbing, digging, and working in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Understanding and following specific oral and written instructions.
  • Working well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers.
  • English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports.
  • Willingness and ability to learn additional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Successful completion of hydro excavation processes.
  • Operation of Hydrovac and other construction machines to excavate, load, dig, or break rocks, debris, dirt, or other materials.
  • Acting as crew leader, responsible for the completion of projects in a safe and timely manner.
  • Safe operation of the truck and its equipment.
  • Completing all assigned work in compliance with Redi and Subsidiaries procedures and customer requirements.
  • Productive utilization of company-provided resources, protecting assets from damage and theft.
  • Ensuring personal safety, the safety of other employees, and the safety of customers and the public.
  • Following up with the job site foreman and/or direct reports upon completion of assigned work.
  • Communicating with the bore lead.
  • Timely and accurate completion of work orders and dailies.
  • Submitting complete and accurate paperwork to the Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner.
  • Advising the Operations Supervisor of any field conditions that may impact the company's ability to perform work as required or complete work on time.
  • Following corrective action provided by the Operations Supervisor.
  • Training and directing the duties of the pothole operator doing hydro excavation.
  • Performing daily and weekly truck inspections.
  • Completing truck/trailer paperwork, including Department of Transportation (DOT) fuel log.
  • Immediately notifying the Operations Supervisor of any truck/trailer repairs needed or performed.
  • Ensuring the truck is fully equipped with necessary tools and materials and that equipment operates properly.
  • Cleaning, checking fluid levels, and conducting visual inspections of the vehicle/equipment.
  • Performing required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and associated paperwork.
  • Performing needed maintenance, including winterizing equipment.
  • Utilizing defensive driving practices.
  • Operating trucks in compliance with all applicable company, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Following required company and DOT reporting procedures.
  • Maintaining paperwork during the day, including DVIR and driver's logbook.
  • Ensuring the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance.
