About The Position

Perform any required hydrostatic and air tests per code specifications as well as customer requirements. Following current SOP procedure and Safety JSEA and test end inspection policies. It is the responsibility of this position to be able to prepare vessels, GPUs, line heaters, spools, etc. for hydrostatic and sometimes air testing, per the latest Forum Hydro test procedure/code/customer specification to determine leaks. Have a working knowledge of piping. Be able to determine from the drawing/work ticket proper test pressure and choose the correct test gauge. Recycle water to storage tank after hydro-test and dry vessels. Perform task within the time allocated in the production schedule and in accordance with Forum US, Inc. Quality requirements. Tap all screwed connection prior to plugging. Clean all sealing surfaces of flanges or closures. Tape and apply never seize to all screw connections. Get proper gasket for each size and grade of flange. Tighten all screwed plugs and blind properly. Install proper fill line and vents on vessel. Install proper test gauge (per test pressure). Operate fill and high pressure pumps. Bring vessel safely up to test pressure testing. Drain water to storage tank and dry vessel. Perform the above as well for low pressure air test. Any other activity required by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of piping.
  • Ability to use 24, 36, and 48 inch pipe wrenches as well as impact wrenches.
  • Alertness to the dangers of dealing with pressures involved in testing.
  • Safe work habits.
  • Capability of identifying different pipe fittings.
  • Capability of filling vessel safely to vent out air in hydro.
  • High school graduate or GED.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months inspection/testing experience preferred.
