Chartier, a 70+-year-old family-owned business specializing in excavation, hydro excavation, emergency spill response, material transportation, and related services, is seeking an experienced Hydro Excavation Laborer to join their dynamic team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized heavy equipment to perform hydro excavation tasks safely and efficiently across various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure precise excavation work while maintaining safety standards and supporting project timelines. The company is headquartered in Fair Haven, MI, with additional locations in Webberville and Harrison, and prides itself on a strong team-oriented culture.

Requirements

Must have valid Chauffer's license and current DOT Medical Card (or be willing to obtain both before starting)
Dependable transportation to and from shop each day
Ability to work in a team environment as well as an individual environment
Effective verbal communication skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to work with hands on tools and to work in construction related situations
Follow instructions given both orally or in writing
Ability to work independently, with accuracy and in accordance with company safety and quality standards
Ability to communicate in English with other employees for the purpose of hazard recognition, problem solving, or other purposes

Responsibilities

Running between shop and field with Parts and Supplies, utilizing shop truck, box vans, stake trucks etc.
Assist Operator with Hydrovac work and maintain truck
Effective communication with on-site foremen regarding progress and safety
Adhere to and enforce all safety standards
Maintain organized and clean job site throughout the project.
Participate in and promote the safety culture
Maintain all necessary job-related certifications
Other duties as assigned
