About The Position

At Transwest the Hydraulics Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hydraulic systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires knowledge of hydraulic principles, mechanical systems, and the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing and ability to obtain a Class B CDL within 90 days of employment.
  • Candidate must have experience diagnosing and repairing diesel trucks and/or RVs.
  • Candidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Following completion of all online training, selected candidate will be required to attend training sessions for products serviced by the company at the company's expense.
  • Candidate must possess a complete set of hand tools with rollaway toolbox.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must obtain refrigerant recovery certification.
  • 3 years recent mechanic experience is required.
  • Experience working with hydraulic systems.
  • Aluminum mig & tig welding experience.
  • Familiarity with automotive electronics and 110-volt systems.
  • Ability to perform heavy component installations.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic systems.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read hydraulic and mechanical schematics.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Candidate must be a motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, motors, and hoses.
  • Wet kit work on Semi's
  • Install, assemble, and test hydraulic systems and components.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on hydraulic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical system failures.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Replace worn or damaged parts and ensure proper system performance.
  • Conduct pressure and performance testing to verify repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with company and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, mechanics, and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
