Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5 years of work experience in hydraulics or a related field.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
  • Ability to meet ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as physical base scores for the position.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
  • Ability to perform all job functions safely.
  • Ability to meet company performance standards for the job.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic computer skills to utilize Caterpillar SIS 2.0 (Parts and technical information) and company-related systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull and /or otherwise move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must operate equipment in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Caterpillar and other OEM hydraulic components (cylinders, pumps, motors, valves).

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, recondition, rebuild, and test Caterpillar and other OEM hydraulic components such as cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves.
  • Review work schedule, check equipment and supplies, and prepare for operations at the start of the shift.
  • Disassemble and inspect components for reusability or repair options using precision measuring tools, Caterpillar reusability and salvage guidelines, and Caterpillar and OEM specifications.
  • Verify findings, measurements, and procedures to develop a repair plan.
  • Order or obtain necessary parts for repairs.
  • Prepare parts for reassembly using tools for polishing, honing, buffing, and cleaning.
  • Reassemble and test components, performing quality checks after work completion.
  • Write service reports within company systems.
  • Paint and pressure wash components when necessary.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Secure all equipment and machinery and complete required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
