About The Position

STV, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Hydraulics Engineer within our Transportation Group in Raleigh, NC. This role will function as a Sub-Discipline Lead or Deputy Discipline Lead on small to large Alternative Delivery (AD) projects, responsible for the work of the technical group. The engineer will plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team, requiring organization of manpower and financial accountability. They will lead other engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth, and provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. Ensuring compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, including providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required, is crucial. The role involves preparing material/equipment technical specifications, coordinating subconsultant work, and maintaining affiliation with professional societies to stay abreast of current technologies. Additionally, the engineer will help determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule, and may assist with other administrative and technical duties.

Requirements

  • Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on AD Transportation Projects in the South Region.
  • Experience successfully serving as a Discipline Lead, Sub-Discipline Lead, or Deputy Discipline Lead on Projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Experience acting as a client liaison.
  • Proven track record of delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOT’s throughout the South Region.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience in supervising and hiring staff.
  • OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Drainage & other commonly used H&H design software.
  • Must be able to drive a car and have own transportation.
  • Lead small to large Civil projects.
  • Support client relations management activities.

Nice To Haves

  • Accredited degree in Civil Engineering
  • Masters is a plus but not required.
  • PE License Required.
