About The Position

As the Hydraulic Systems Engineering Project Team Lead, you will serve as a technical leader and project coordinator, driving complex engineering projects from concept to completion. This role emphasizes technical excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing stakeholders, without direct people management responsibilities. You will ensure hydraulic system solutions meet performance, quality, and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Project Management: Lead end-to-end engineering projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery. Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risk mitigation strategies. Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment with project goals and milestones. Oversee hydraulics-related projects, ensuring technical and operational requirements are met throughout the lifecycle.
  • Technical Excellence: Maintain deep technical knowledge in hydraulic systems and components. Review and validate technical designs, specifications, and documentation. Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to guide innovation and improvement. Provide hands-on support in solving complex engineering challenges involving hydraulic systems.
  • Influencing Through Expertise: Build trust and credibility with stakeholders through strong technical insight and clear communication. Advocate for engineering solutions that align with business objectives and customer needs. Lead technical discussions and influence decision-making across departments and project teams. Present hydraulics-related concepts and project strategies to non-technical audiences to gain support and drive action.

Responsibilities

  • Work with machine business divisions, hydraulic system engineering, and hydraulic strategy groups to identify NPI, NTI, NSI, assurance of supply, and cost reduction opportunities for hydraulic valves.
  • Oversee project progress, timelines, and costs; communicate status through regular gate reviews; address and resolve technical and operational challenges.
  • Align efforts across component design, detailing, releasing, hydraulics strategy, manufacturing facilities, purchasing, and supply chain teams.
  • Play an active role in supplier selection and development of potential suppliers.
  • Act as gatekeeper, ensuring that all sourcing projects are identified and ready for review by the Hydraulics Sourcing Council
