About The Position

Voith Hydro is hiring a Hydraulic Design Engineer in York, Pennsylvania, with a hybrid work arrangement. The engineer works with the Project Manager and teams across Voith Hydro operating units to design and, in many cases, model-test modernized hydro turbines that meet or exceed contractual requirements. The role develops hydraulic shapes that satisfy hydraulic and mechanical requirements while balancing manufacturing costs and project schedules. It also performs transient calculations for upgraded hydraulic waterways to support safe, reliable plant operation. As experience grows, the engineer may support improvements to design and CFD tools. The posting describes the role as requiring a high degree of autonomy and refers to it as a Sr. Engineer in the position summary. The position includes turbine component design, numerical analysis and optimization, model-scale design and testing, documentation, customer presentations, project coordination, and support for manufacturing and field testing. Hydraulic engineering is identified as being on the critical path during project execution. The job may require travel and includes work in an office and industrial environments, with the physical activities described below. Voith describes its benefits as flexibility with work/life balance, a competitive compensation and benefits package, a 401(k) with a generous company match, a climate-neutral footprint worldwide, and tuition reimbursement. Voith Group is described as having around 20,700 employees and locations in over 60 countries.
