About The Position

Implement, troubleshoot, and sustain hybrid environments for the Missile Defense Space Enterprise Architecture. Work with a team that manages the full lifecycle of a secure, air-gapped on-premises infrastructure, with ownership from the physical hardware (compute and storage) up through the hypervisor layer. Conduct administration, lifecycle management, and security hardening of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0 appliance suite. Work with a team that will design and implement secure, scalable cloud architectures (VCF 9.0, AWS GovCloud, Azure for US Government) for enterprise workloads. Implement, and sustain Container Platforms such as VKS (Kubernetes v1.35), Docker, and Podman as well as maintain Repositories/Registries. Work with system engineers to identify and define requirements for new systems/system modifications, developing designs, and implementing and testing solutions. Conduct daily system monitoring, system backup and restoral, and application upgrades to ensure optimal and continuous system operations. Ensure system software installations, maintenance, break/fix activities, and cyber security mitigations are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements. Carry out high-level activities associated with design and system architecture. Quickly learn challenging concepts, decompose difficult service problems and provide resolution. Effectively function as self-starter and identify risks, issues, and opportunities to leadership. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related subject required
  • Must have, or acquire within 60 days of hire, Security+ certification or equivalent
  • 2+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Familiarity with Cloud engineering experience required
  • Experience with enterprise hardware stack (HPE Synergy, HPE Nimble, NetApp ONTAP, etc.) required
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization required
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform required
  • Understanding of networking, storage, identity, and DevSecOps pipelines required
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Candidate must be in possession of a Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations preferred
  • Experience with continuous delivery tools (VCFA Blueprints, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.) preferred
  • Experience with automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, HELM, Bash, etc.) preferred
  • Experience designing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions preferred
  • Ability to logically decompose complex mission systems into manageable components preferred
  • A track record of effectively troubleshooting and applying critical thinking skills to resolve IT system dependencies, impacts, and sustainability challenges preferred
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal cloud initiatives preferred
  • Experience working in an agile environment preferred
  • Experience administering a Red Hat Linux environment (RHEL 9.x) preferred
