About The Position

Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. We are seeking a hardware engineering manager to join our team at Amazon Leo. The successful candidate will be responsible to lead the design, implementation and validation of complex space grade hardware electronics targeted to payload antenna systems. As a leader, you will manage, develop and grow your team to deliver results and collaborate with cross functional teams in the organization. You have a good mix of interpersonal skills expected from a manager and technical acumen expected from an engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• 7+ years of industrial experience especially in board level analog/digital design with large ASIC’s
• 3+ years of experience in a technical leading role and a management position
• 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
• 5+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
• Experience with advanced CAD tools
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
• Experience with developing hardware for space applications
• Experience with the entire NPI process
• Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc)
• Experience in design, implementation, bring up and debugging of HW from prototypes to manufacturing
• Familiarity with power supply design
