About The Position

The West Michigan Construction Institute (WMCI) is seeking a Part-Time HVACR Instructor to join their team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction to adult students in their new HVACR Program. The instructor will be responsible for bringing the classroom to life by connecting real-world HVACR experience with practical application, helping students build both technical knowledge and confidence as they advance in the trade. This is a hands-on, evening-based role.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of field experience in the HVACR trade.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to adult learners is essential.

Nice To Haves

• Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum, helping students connect theory to real-world jobsite application.
• Foster a professional, respectful classroom and lab setting where adult learners feel supported, challenged, and motivated to grow.
• Lead hands-on lab activities that reinforce key HVACR concepts, tools, and troubleshooting skills.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress, ensuring alignment with apprenticeship program requirements.
• Participate in required professional development days and uphold WMCI's standards for safety, instruction, and program delivery.
