About The Position

Rite Air Mechanical is seeking an experienced commercial HVACR professional to step into a leadership role as an Installation Manager. This position is for someone who has progressed from hands-on field experience into management, understanding all phases of commercial HVACR installations from drawing review and manpower coordination to startup, commissioning, and customer turnover. The ideal candidate is comfortable on active job sites, solving technical issues, supporting crews, communicating with clients, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget. This role requires a leader who thinks like a technician and earns respect through their field experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive hands-on commercial HVACR installation experience is required.
  • Previous experience as a commercial HVACR technician is required.
  • Experience leading installation crews, foremen, or large commercial HVACR projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, piping, controls, startup procedures, and commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the confidence to make sound field decisions.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial HVACR installation projects from pre-construction planning through project completion.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and equipment schedules to ensure projects are set up for success before installation begins.
  • Verify complete system material requirements and parts lists, ensuring crews have everything needed before work starts.
  • Coordinate labor, subcontractors, equipment, deliveries, and scheduling to keep projects moving efficiently.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to field installation teams, answering questions and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Conduct regular job site visits to monitor progress, maintain quality standards, and identify potential issues before they become costly delays.
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges using real-world field experience and develop practical solutions that keep projects on track.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, manufacturer requirements, safety standards, and applicable mechanical codes.
  • Oversee equipment startups, commissioning activities, punch lists, and project closeout.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and internal departments through proactive communication.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, schedules, change orders, and progress updates.
  • Mentor and develop installation technicians while fostering a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
