About The Position

Under general supervision, this role conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems. The Pre-Apprentice will be responsible for completing required project and service documentation and providing customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items. As a trusted advisor, the Pre-Apprentice will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ years of mechanical experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
  • Completes required project and service documentation.
  • Provides customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Performs pneumatic control systems and mechanical equipment service and all other work coming under the local union agreement assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities as determined by the Employer.
  • Provides recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
  • Provides quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • Performs routine service and inspections, including changing and servicing filters, oiling and greasing, adjusting or replacing belts, cleaning cooling towers, coils, evaporator and condenser tubes, mechanical systems operation under contract with customer, cleaning and routine maintenance of solar energy equipment, and indoor air quality related work including duct systems and drain pans.
