About The Position

Johnson Controls is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to join our fast-growing HVAC business in North America. This role involves working on light commercial and/or heavy commercial teams with advanced and cutting-edge industrial equipment. Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Experience with Rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing.
  • Universal EPA refrigerants license.
  • Applicable state or local licensing.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Able to write and communicate to the customer problem, cause, and corrective actions.
  • Able to provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
  • Self-starter with a passion/desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.

Nice To Haves

  • Practical work experience in HVAC piping, plumbing, pipefitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry.
  • Practical working experience in light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment.
  • May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, providing solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently, including identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • System troubleshooting, repair, and aftermarket services for the HVAC business.
  • Mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators of pumps, fans, and compressors.
  • Troubleshoot drivelines using vibration equipment.
