Requirements

  • Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of HVAC/R experience, with direct chiller experience preferred.
  • Able to repair centrifugal compressors and screw chillers system components.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
  • Perform refrigerant leak detection, recovery, evacuation, charging, and documentation in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written skills.
  • Able to write and communicate to the customer problem, cause, and corrective actions.
  • Self-starter with a passion/ desire to learn and apply on the job.
  • Prioritize safety in all forms.
  • Universal EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

  • OEM training from manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin
  • Experience with vibration analysis and predictive maintenance technologies
  • Troubleshoot and repair centrifugal, screw, scroll, and reciprocating compressors
  • Experience with chiller overhauls, large repairs, startups, and performing maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related items.
  • As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of commissioning and aftermarket service.
  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.
  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
  • Startup, commissioning, trouble shooting and aftermarket services for this fast-growing business.
  • Repair centrifugal compressors and screw chillers system components.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control system issues.
  • Perform refrigerant leak detection, recovery, evacuation, charging, and documentation in compliance with EPA regulations.
  • Travel maybe required 10% to 20% to support Branch Customers startup and commissioning activities as well as aftermarket service trouble shooting.
  • Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
  • Enroll in training programs and JCI’s STA to gain knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
  • Work collaboratively with other local market mechanics.
  • Write and communicate to the customer problem, cause, and corrective actions.
  • Provide quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
