About The Position

St. Luke's is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician for day shifts. This role is crucial in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors by performing scheduled preventive maintenance on all industrial boiler, chiller, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment. The technician will also make necessary adjustments to the environmental control system and operate industrial boilers and chillers. The position involves repairing and maintaining all HVAC equipment and systems, ensuring timely repairs to minimize disruptions, and documenting all maintenance and repair activities. Additionally, the role may involve investigating and resolving environmental issues, submitting requisitions for necessary parts, and providing occasional training to hospital staff on equipment usage. "On Call" rotation may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate (G.E.D.).
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience through on the job training in firing high-pressure boilers or two (2) years' experience with industrial air conditioning and heating systems.
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification (EPA) required for NJ Candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all industrial boiler, chiller, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Makes adjustments to the environmental control system as necessary to maintain an appropriate environment.
  • Operates industrial boilers, chillers, and associated equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains all HVAC equipment and all heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Completes all necessary repairs on assigned equipment in an expeditious manner to minimize any disruptions.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment utilizing current professional standards and provides legible written documentation.
  • Investigates, evaluates, and remedies environmental problems to provide a healthful and pleasant environment.
  • Submits material requisitions and/or appropriate information for the repair or replacement of assigned equipment.
  • Provides occasional in-service training to hospital staff on the proper use and care of selected equipment such as control systems.
  • Participates in "On Call" rotation as required.
