About The Position

The HVAC/R Technician performs skilled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and operational support on Controlled Temperature Units (CTUs), refrigeration systems, and HVAC mechanical equipment. This role supports critical facility environments and ensures equipment reliability in accordance with JLL standards, client expectations, and site‑specific GMP requirements. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of experience as a refrigeration/air conditioning mechanic in an industrial or research environment.
  • 2+ years hands‑on HVAC/R maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic and pneumatic controls and ability to interpret control diagrams.
  • Ability to work independently, in teams, and with cross‑trade disciplines.
  • Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (day or night).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a GMP environment.
  • 1+ years validated CMMS experience.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Knowledge of BAS or Qualified BAS (QBAS) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, service, and maintenance on CTUs and HVAC/R systems, including controls, air handlers, BAS/BMS components, pumps, motors, dampers, valves, and actuators.
  • Install, repair, maintain, and commission refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, including associated piping, wiring, and controls.
  • Operate and maintain building systems such as: Heating hot water and steam Ventilation systems Air conditioning systems Water treatment and conditioning systems Refrigeration skids for controlled cold rooms
  • Maintain ancillary systems including chillers, cooling towers, and pumps.
  • Work from CAD drawings, schematics, prints, and verbal instructions to support installations and corrective repairs.
  • Conduct water treatment testing and troubleshooting for cooling and hot water circulation systems.
  • Identify system performance issues, analyze causes of failure, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support and maintain refrigeration management documentation and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with non‑HVAC facility systems including fire life safety, doors, plumbing, and basic electrical tasks.
  • Support general facility maintenance work such as painting, lighting replacement, and minor plumbing.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client and tenant requests.
