About The Position

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to take ownership of the HVAC and heating systems across five well-maintained facilities. This position includes trouble shooting and maintaining 30 HVAC units, monitoring high and low side of compressors, changing compressors and contactors as well as relays and fuses. This position includes maintenance of FVD units and the motors, and dampers and actuators on all units. This position is an opportunity to manage preventive maintenance and make a measurable impact on facility operations. You are a dependable, skilled HVAC Maintenance Mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting complex commercial systems, working independently, and taking pride in preventive maintenance—not just emergency service calls. You'll be responsible for maintaining approximately 30 commercial HVAC units, hot water boilers, Building Management Systems (BMS), and related mechanical equipment in a stable, year-round position.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • Gas Certification HVAC license
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Working knowledge of a Building Maintenance System
  • Must own HVAC gauges and vacuum pump

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand mechanical drawings
  • Ability to diagnose electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical system failures.
  • Proficient using torches, Pro Press tools, and performing hot work.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Clearing drain pans and condensate lines, coil maintenance and leak checking.
  • Changing filters and maintain belt as needed.
  • Upkeep of four hot water boilers and heat exchangers to maintain proper water temperature.
  • Servicing auto water fills. Twice a year changing all filters and belts, including cleaning of all coils. Maintaining drain pans on all units.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and replace dampers and actuators.
  • Maintain heating units and changing out igniters on all heating devices.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain approximately 30 commercial HVAC units.
  • Diagnose refrigeration issues by monitoring compressor high- and low-side pressures.
  • Replace compressors, contactors, relays, capacitors, fuses, motors, and other HVAC components.
  • Service Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and associated motors.
  • Monitor and adjust the Building Management System (BMS) to optimize system performance.
  • Clean condensates drain pans and drain lines.
  • Perform refrigerant leak detection and repair.
  • Clean evaporator and condenser coils and perform seasonal preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service logs.
  • Maintain proper boiler water temperatures and service automatic water fill systems.
  • Replace igniters and maintain gas-fired heating equipment.
  • Read blueprints and mechanical drawings to diagnose and repair systems.
  • Safely perform brazing, soldering, Pro Press work, and other hot work when required.
