Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a HVAC Technician - 1st Shift to join our team in Beltsville, MD! The core hours are 7 am - 3:30 pm. The hourly rate for this position is $33.50 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Must have Maryland HVACR License (Journeyman).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, including split systems, heat pumps, and rooftop units.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems, including split systems, heat pumps, rooftop units, and boilers/chillers.
  • Complies with all national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies by driving EBS/World class workforce initiatives such as ISO14001 and/or applicable regional initiatives.
  • Ability to proactively work with other team members under limited supervision.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 12 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to be comfortable working in any weather conditions and on rooftops.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow technical standards and maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of operating lift truck, material handling equipment, man lifts and hand tools.
  • Flexibility in shiftwork may be required to perform work at times when area is not occupied.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to climb ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and/or installing HVAC and other air quality systems, including regularly cleaning, adjusting, and repairing these systems.
  • Assisting in other areas, such as performing plumbing and electrical work.
  • Supporting other industrial maintenance technicians throughout the site.
  • Studying blueprints, design specifications, or manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain the configuration of heating or cooling equipment components and to ensure the proper installation of components.
  • Developing and performing preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, refilling non-toxic refrigerants, or changing filters.
  • Repairing or replacing defective equipment, components, or wiring.
  • Inspecting and testing systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions.
  • Supporting refreshing of office and manufacturing areas throughout the site based on availability and need. This refreshing is to include potential drywall repairs, trim/molding replacement, caulking, fixture adjustments and painting.
  • Providing support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
