About The Position

Karber Corporation (K CORP) is a full-service mechanical and plumbing contractor seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician. This role is crucial for diagnosing HVAC system performance, troubleshooting electrical issues, and ensuring systems operate smoothly. The technician will manage service contracts, handle projects, and respond to service calls, building strong customer relationships. Safety and efficiency are paramount, and the role allows for independent work while contributing to team success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant HVAC Service Tech experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must possess required registrations, professional licenses and/or certifications as required by the position.
  • Universal EPA Certified.
  • HVAC Unitary: Split systems, VRF/VRV, Roof Top packaged systems, Self-contained systems water-cooled and air-cooled, CRAC units – Liebert/Data Aire/Stultz.
  • Proficient in air cooled chiller service and repair.
  • HVAC Airside skills Fan Powered Box, and VAV. VFD
  • Air Handler: Theory of AHU operation and Theory of control valve operation.
  • Exhaust fans: Centrifugal Up blast Roof Fans and Centrifugal Inline Fan.
  • Cooling Tower: Ability to perform maintenance on cooling towers.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical degree in related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses HVAC system performance through observation, testing and setup as required by trade/position and type/size.
  • Proficient in the electrical diagnostics of HVAC equipment.
  • Proficiently operates hand tools, power tools, gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Performs disassembly and reassembly of large or small commercial or residential HVAC equipment to perform troubleshooting and planned maintenance as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls while maintaining profitability.
  • Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Participates in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by department policies and procedures.
  • Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer as evidenced by past driving performance record.
  • Adheres to all company safety requirements.
  • Purchases materials and issues purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
