About The Position

ABM is seeking transitioning service members for an HVAC Technician I SkillBridge opportunity. Participants will gain hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing HVAC and refrigeration equipment, controls, chilled-water systems, boilers, and other mechanical and building systems. During SkillBridge, participants continue receiving military pay and benefits and are not employed or compensated by ABM. Successful completion may lead to consideration for paid ABM employment based on qualifications, performance, licensing, business needs, and position availability.

Requirements

• Be an active-duty U.S. service member within 180 days of separation or retirement
• Have completed at least 180 days of active-duty service
• Expect to receive an honorable discharge
• Complete required transition assistance requirements
• Receive written command approval before beginning SkillBridge

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Army MOS 91C – Utilities Equipment Repairer
• Experience in Air Force MOS 3E1X1 / 3E131 – Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
• Experience in Navy MOS UT / H190 – Utilitiesman
• Experience in Marine Corps MOS 1161 – Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician
• Experience in Coast Guard MOS MK – Machinery Technician; DC – Damage Controlman

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical equipment issues
• Inspect and adjust thermostats, controls, relays, burners, and related components
• Use HVAC tools, including multimeters and refrigerant gauges
• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
• Maintain service records and daily work logs
• Follow safety standards, work instructions, and customer requirements
• Assist customers and support other assigned duties
