M.C. Dean is seeking an HVAC Technician 1 for their "Cleared Mission Critical Facility Maintenance" hiring event in Tysons, Virginia. M.C. Requirements

High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience; or 1+ year of experience with an associate degree.
Commercial HVAC experience as a truck-based service technician.
Experience working with complex HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, package units, AHUs, and VAV systems (direct digital, pneumatic, and automated controls).
Current CFC/EPA Universal Certification (within 1 year if not currently held).
Holistic understanding of mechanical equipment and HVAC design in commercial and industrial environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (applicants will undergo a government background investigation).
Requires a Valid driver's license. This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
Strong understanding of HVAC tools, machines, and their proper maintenance.
Proficiency in using hand tools and test equipment to perform diagnostic and repair work.
Ability to complete timely documentation including maintenance reports, service tickets, and daily safety briefings.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Willingness to work nights, weekends, and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Ability to travel occasionally outside normal working areas; may require limited overnight travel.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and safely.
The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

Nice To Haves

Completion of an HVAC technical training program or recognized apprenticeship.
HVAC OEM factory training or experience with Trane, Liebert, Stulz, and other major brands.
Advanced troubleshooting skills down to the component level on boilers, chillers, AHUs, VAVs, heat pumps, and CRAC units.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and system plans.
Current Master HVAC License or equivalent technical degree.
Experience with Liebert HVAC systems.
Strong customer-relation skills with ability to provide proactive recommendations to clients.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on various mechanical equipment and systems including Air Cooled Chillers, Air Handling Units, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Data Center Cooling, Exhaust and Filtration, Heat Exchangers, Heat Pumps, Humidification, Piping repairs, Pumps, Rooftop Units, Variable Air Volume Systems, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and Walk-in Coolers and Freezers.
Engage in projects such as AC Unit installs, air-cooled chiller installation, boiler overhauls and replacements, commercial water heater installation, and pump rebuilds and installation (water cooled and direct expansion).
