About The Position

The Technical Trainer will develop and deliver training courses for training customers or technical employees in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC products. Develop and present quality curriculum within corporate style guide and quality controls across multiple platforms such as PowerPoint, video, hands-on in person, and virtual reality. Understand technical documentation such as manuals i.e., owner, installation, diagnostic and flat rate in addition to service and training bulletins. Work with internal departments and team members to fabricate a training lab. Onboard new technical trainers and distributors. Train staff on product updates as needed. Prepare training facility and lab prior to training classes. Liaison between sales, product marketing, service department and training. Assist at educational and/or industry conferences. Potential to travel up to 30%. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer two year college degree, HVAC degree or equivalent.
  • 5 years’ experience installing, servicing, and troubleshooting residential and commercial (up to 50 tons) HVAC equipment or a minimum of 5-years installing, servicing onsite troubleshooting commercial HVAC equipment or a minimum of 3-years as a technical trainer. HVAC experience a plus.
  • Ability to develop testing plans. Must have the ability to deal with shifting priorities and moving deadlines. Must be familiar with hand tools and test equipment and the technical aptitude to conduct basic start-up and troubleshooting. Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and live webinars.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
