About The Position

We are seeking a highly qualified HVAC Technician with extensive experience in Marine, Industrial, and Residential HVAC systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems aboard U.S. Navy, MSC, and Commercial vessels. Apply comprehensive knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipefitting, and electrical/mechanical layouts for HVAC systems. Install, retrofit, and repair marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including commercial chillers and HVAC control systems. Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to complete projects accurately and efficiently. Plan, prioritize, and execute work assignments with minimal supervision based on instructions from supervisors and job specifications. Document all work performed by completing required job paperwork and maintaining accurate records and reports. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, including NAVSEA Standard Items, NFPA, EPA regulations, and Navy specifications. Follow all applicable safety and environmental protocols during all phases of work. Troubleshoot complex HVAC and refrigeration systems and perform root cause analysis to resolve system failures. Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Marine, Industrial, and Residential HVAC systems.
  • Strong background in the maintenance, installation, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems aboard U.S. Navy, MSC, and Commercial vessels.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of air conditioning theory, pipefitting, and electrical/mechanical layouts for HVAC systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC/R installation standards and regulatory codes.
  • Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items, NFPA codes, EPA guidelines, and Navy HVAC specifications.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Must be able to calculate and understand units of measure.
  • Must have basic hand tools applicable to your trade with bag or tote.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, tech manuals and work specifications for various types of machinery and/or piping systems.
  • Must be able to wear applicable PPE (Hard hat, safety goggles, gloves, steel toes shoes, ear protection)
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and in varied environmental conditions (e.g., aboard ships, in dry docks, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be eligible to obtain DBIDs
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening

Nice To Haves

  • Trade School, Apprenticeship, or Higher Education
  • 7+ years relevant experience
  • Basic computer skills preferred
