About The Position

Morris Jenkins is hosting a career fair for individuals interested in becoming HVAC Technicians or Plumbers. This event is open to all experience levels. For those new to the trades, there are PAID training opportunities available through the 'Build a Plumber' class starting August 17 and the 'HVAC Tech Builder' class starting August 31. These programs offer hands-on training with industry experts. Upon successful graduation, technicians will transition to a Mid Shift schedule, serving customers during afternoon and evening hours. The company aims to hire experienced HVAC technicians, plumbers, and electricians as well. Hiring decisions and job offers may be made on the day of the career fair.

Requirements

  • Valid local driver's license with acceptable driving & criminal background record
  • Abstinence from drugs with clean drug screening results
  • Professional appearance, no visible tattoos
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Commitment to company values
  • Must have required hand tools
  • Ability to move about customers' homes inside tight crawlspaces.
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders lifting one's own bodyweight through narrow entrances into attics.
  • Precise hand eye motor skills.
  • Ability to deadlift 90 pounds to a height of three feet or greater.
  • Ability to hold and extend proper drain machines weighing at least 25 pounds for an extended time.
  • Ability to perceive and distinguish emotions.
  • Ability to deal with adversarial confrontations.
  • Ability to concentrate and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
  • Conscious attention to detail is required to safely perform tasks.
  • Willingness to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing for HVAC Technician or Plumber roles.
  • Participating in PAID training opportunities to become a HVAC technician or plumber.
  • Serving customers during afternoon and evening hours upon successful graduation from training programs.
  • Working with customers' plumbing and HVAC systems.
  • Identifying and inspecting equipment, parts, and colored wiring.
  • Testing, repairing, and installing electrical connections.
  • Lifting and carrying materials such as toilets and drain cabling machines.
  • Holding and extending drain machines for extended periods.
  • Dealing with adversarial confrontations.
  • Concentrating and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Paying conscious attention to detail.
