About The Position

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks HVAC Systems Engineering Leader II at its facility located at 7711 Center Ave, Suite 650, Huntington Beach, CA 92647. JOB DESCRIPTION: Ensure work performed follows state, local and federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics. Serve as the Local expert in application engineering. Serve as the Regional expert in application engineering. (5%) Employ practices and develop processes to ensure cost effective engineering while providing consistent delivery and customer satisfaction. Seek out new and creative applications and operational techniques. (5%) Work effectively with Major Projects and Branch teams. Work with Major Projects and Branch teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering work you're doing to improve successful execution of projects. (10%) Provide timeframe estimates to project management for job cost evaluation. (5%) Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate the Systems Engineering team processes, strategies and standards. (15%) Provide engineering cost estimates during project development phases. (5%) Implement improvements in the processes, facilities, tools and equipment to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and to provide powerful technology. (15%) Provide advanced technical support on application or implementation issues. Perform complex engineering and supports network commissioning as required on assigned projects. (5%) Use financial, contract management and other reports to evaluate team success. (10%). Develop and maintain viable relationships with customers, consultants, and architect engineers. Leverage these relationships as needed during project development and execution. (5%) Maintain high level of engineering standards. Ensure maximum reuse of proven designs and programs. (5%) Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, performance evaluations and development plans for direct reports (15%). Role supervises 6 direct reports - (2) Systems Designers & (4) Systems Engineers. No Telecommuting Allowed. REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Plus Five (5) years of experience as an Application Engineer, Senior Application Engineer or related occupation with progressive responsibility in the construction industry or related industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Designing complex building controls systems utilizing product selection and drafting tools; (2) Designing complex control sequence of operations, generate and validate controller software and supervisory network device databases; (3) Coordinating engineering deliverables with project teams and schedule available resources to accomplish assigned tasks on time and within budget; (4) Utilizing and updating engineering tracking tools to assist in communicating status on assigned tasks; (5) Continually assessing team capacity, recruiting, and training additional engineering resources as needed; (6) Ensuring a high level of quality of engineering deliverables; and (7) Working with managers to ensure projects are on track with technical execution to ensure high customer satisfaction. Requirements
