In this role, the individual will be responsible for performing first time furnace and A/C start up for residential homes. This includes maintaining, diagnosing, and correcting problems throughout the entire HVAC system. The technician will perform all low voltage wiring for indoor and outdoor units, test electrical circuits and components, and start up the furnace to burn off manufacturing oil. They will also add the proper charge to the A/C, test connections for leaks, and adjust system controls according to manufacturer recommendations. General maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, vacuuming, oiling parts, and changing filters are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires excellent communication skills with supervisors and homeowners, the ability to lay out and connect electrical wiring, install auxiliary components, and generate work orders for deficiencies. Additionally, the technician will join pipes or tubing to form complete circuits and fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts.
