About The Position

Nature Air Corp is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Duct Mechanic for commercial HVAC construction projects throughout South Florida. This is not an entry-level installer or helper position. We are specifically looking for someone with strong hands-on experience installing commercial sheet-metal ductwork who can read plans, lay out work and perform installations with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Commercial sheet-metal duct installation experience required
• Able to independently read mechanical plans
• Able to lay out sheet-metal ductwork from drawings
• Experienced installing rectangular sheet metal
• Strong field-measurement skills
• Able to identify fittings and transitions required in the field
• Able to work independently without another mechanic constantly directing the work
• Reliable transportation
• Dependable attendance
• Professional attitude

Nice To Haves

• Spiral duct experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret commercial mechanical/HVAC plans
• Lay out sheet-metal duct runs based on plans and field conditions
• Install rectangular sheet-metal ductwork
• Install spiral ductwork
• Install supply, return, exhaust and outside-air systems
• Install fittings, transitions, offsets, elbows and related components
• Determine field measurements and required fittings
• Install hangers and supports
• Install dampers, diffusers, grilles and registers
• Coordinate duct routes around actual field conditions
• Identify installation conflicts and communicate them before proceeding
• Direct installers or helpers when assigned
• Maintain clean, professional commercial installations
