About The Position

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our growing field team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and install HVAC systems in residential and light commercial settings throughout the greater Nashville area. You will represent Mr. Handyman with professionalism at every customer interaction, deliver high-quality workmanship, and contribute to team revenue goals through honest, consultative selling. This is not a run-and-gun volume job. We run flat-rate, transparent pricing and expect our techs to take pride in their work, educate customers, and provide Good/Better/Best options on every service call.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of HVAC service and repair experience
  • EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred; Type I or II considered)
  • Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Basic proficiency with mobile apps and digital work orders
  • Professional appearance and strong communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions

Nice To Haves

  • NATE Certification (any specialty)
  • Experience with leading brands: Carrier, Lennox, Trane, Goodman, Rheem, American Standard
  • Ductwork fabrication and sealing experience
  • Experience with mini-split / ductless systems
  • Home Performance or Indoor Air Quality knowledge
  • Prior experience in a flat-rate or book-rate pricing environment
  • ServiceTitan experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair HVAC systems including heating, cooling, and ventilation
  • Perform preventive maintenance on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment
  • Install new HVAC systems and components including thermostats, air handlers, condensers, and ductwork
  • Perform seasonal tune-ups, filter replacements, coil cleaning, and refrigerant checks
  • Identify and communicate code compliance issues and safety concerns to customers
  • Complete all work orders accurately via ServiceTitan mobile app (training provided)
  • Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle and job site at all times
  • Arrive on time, in uniform, with a professional, courteous attitude
  • Educate homeowners on system condition and options using Good/Better/Best recommendations
  • Present repair vs. replace options transparently and honestly
  • Collect payments and close jobs at point of service
  • Request Google reviews and referrals on completed jobs
  • Look for cross-service opportunities (plumbing, bath, handyman) and refer internally
