About The Position

Dead River Company is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to join their team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial oil and/or propane heating equipment. The company serves customers throughout Northern New England and New York and emphasizes integrity, caring, and excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety. This position offers competitive compensation, with pay ranging from $24-$30 per hour based on skillset and experience, and eligibility for a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of relevant oil and/or propane service experience.
  • Apprentice, Journeyman, or Master designation licensing where required by state.
  • Applicable propane CETP certification for propane technicians.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Valid motor vehicle driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Experience with installation, maintenance, and repairs of residential and commercial oil and/or Propane heating equipment.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • A focus on safety.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • HAZMAT endorsement / Propane License

Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs oil and/or propane heating systems in accordance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and Dead River Company policies.
  • Performs efficiency tests, tune-ups, and contract service inspections.
  • Ensures all work is performed safely and accurately to eliminate call-backs and reduce liability.
  • Promotes the company's image as a trusted advisor through a neat appearance, clean uniform, and timely, safe, and courteous service.
  • Promotes Dead River Company products and services.
  • Advises customers on the best options for their specific needs.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly service vehicle.
  • Ensures all tools and equipment are in safe operating condition.
  • Records and reports parts and labor for service calls in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintains and tracks parts inventories in the service vehicle.
  • Participates in night and weekend on-call schedules as necessary.
  • Reports all accidents, spills, and liability claims.
  • Performs propane Gas-check inspections according to applicable codes and company policy without supervision (for propane technicians).
