About The Position

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role ensures optimal system performance for commercial and industrial clients by delivering high-quality workmanship, accurate troubleshooting, and exceptional customer service. The technician will work independently in the field while maintaining compliance with safety standards, company policies, and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; HVAC technical school training preferred.
  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with large-tonnage equipment and controls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems including RTUs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, split systems, VRF systems, cooling towers, and building automation controls.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections on commercial equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
  • Test electrical components, motors, compressors, and control systems using appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or system upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including work orders, materials used, and service reports.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding system performance and repair recommendations.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, safety policies, and company procedures.
  • Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in proper working order.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required.
