Parks Heating Cooling Plumbing & Electrical has proudly served the Charlotte Metro Area for over 50 years and continues to grow because of the people behind the work. We are currently looking for a skilled HVAC Service Technician to support our evenings or weekends team (you choose your shift), a great opportunity for technicians who enjoy a less crowded schedule, strong earning potential, and the ability to work more independently. After-hours calls often come from customers who need immediate help and are ready to move forward with repairs or replacements, creating excellent earning opportunities for top technicians. Requirements

  • Three (3)+ years of residential HVAC service experience.
  • Availability to work one of our two flexible service schedules: Weekend Shift (Friday–Monday) or Evening Shift (Monday–Friday, 12:00 PM–9:00 PM).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, airflow, refrigeration principles, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledgeable of local HVAC codes and ability to apply them on the job.
  • Experience with system diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and customer-facing service.
  • Continued education and training mindset.
  • Clean, safe driving record.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Strong desire to be a better technician tomorrow than you are today.
  • Competitive individual contributor who also loves to win as a team.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand residential HVAC systems in order to accurately troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair heating and cooling equipment.
  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and system testing on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini splits, and indoor air quality equipment.
  • Physically capable of going through crawlspaces and attics when necessary.
  • Educate customers and provide detailed option sheets with the right products and services.
  • Educate and assist customers in choosing the best finance options and maintenance plans.
  • Ensure all systems are functioning properly and safely after repairs or installations.
  • Understand service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
  • Present yourself as professional and knowledgeable to earn customer trust, referrals, and repeat business.
  • Work alongside customer service and dispatch to ensure overall success of the business.
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck.
  • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, and company retreats.
  • Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
  • Be accurate and timely with invoices, timecards, curbside feedback, and option sheets.
