About The Position

This position involves working with HVAC heating, cooling, boiler, chiller, and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will be able to read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all job site personnel including subcontractors, and represent TP Mechanical Contractors professionally. The role may require accepting direction and/or leading and delegating work as necessary.

Requirements

• Minimum 8-10 years commercial experience in plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration.
• Stable work history.
• EPA Type 2 or Universal License.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• HVAC and refrigeration repair and installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Able to use all specialty tools including Recovery Machine, Multi Meter, Combustion Analysis.
• Able to install equipment.
• Very strong technical background.
• Works within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to manage, lead, motivate and discipline.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• High School or GED Equivalent.
• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to work long hours on feet.
• Able to lift and climb ladders and scaffolds.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must not be afraid of heights.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must provide their own basic hand tools.

Nice To Haves

• VRF system knowledge is a plus.
• HVAC chiller and boiler certifications are a plus.
• KY Journeymen license a plus.
• Control experience a plus.
• Trade School a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and solve HVAC rooftop units, make up air, boiler, chiller, and control system problems.
• Follows up with customers for quality assurance purposes and ensures customers are 100% satisfied.
• Acts as the senior technical support for other Service Techs, answering technical questions and assisting with issues.
• Attends job site and office meetings related to assigned projects and is prepared to handle issues.
• Available to work in emergency situations when called.
• All other duties as assigned.
