About The Position

As an HVAC Service Sales Rep based in Irving, Texas, you will drive the growth and profitability of the HVAC Service business by building new customer relationships and expanding service opportunities within your assigned territory. You will focus on renewable maintenance agreements as the foundation for long-term service partnerships, working closely with branch sales and operations teams to close business on a monthly basis.

Requirements

  • At least 2 Years previous progressive Commercial sales roles, preferably in commercial HVAC /Building Automation
  • Exposure to sales methodologies, standards, and disciplines.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and group settings.

  • Aptitude for technical knowledge with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience selling services and other intangible offerings.
  • Knowledge of building HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, establish, and grow profitable service relationships with new customers.
  • Sell renewable maintenance agreements as a key building block for customer retention and growth.
  • Work your assigned geographic territory in partnership with local branch sales and operations professionals.
  • Use sales tools to plan, document, and track sales progress across new and existing opportunities.
  • Identify customer concerns related to heating, cooling, ventilation, and control system equipment.
  • Prepare, review, and finalize proposals, then secure customer commitment to Johnson Controls solutions.
  • Lead customer kick-off meetings, support issue resolution, and help maintain and extend service agreements.
  • Support pull-through opportunities, collections activity, and account growth within current customer relationships.
  • Develop and execute territory marketing plans aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions strategy.
  • Attend trade shows and participate in professional organizations to build market presence and referral opportunities.
  • Use a disciplined, professional approach to prospecting, qualifying, and advancing opportunities while taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Stay close to the customer, listen for the real operational problem, and remove obstacles that slow progress.
  • Build trust through integrity, follow-through, and a safety-first mindset in every customer interaction.
  • Work collaboratively with branch teammates, drawing on diverse perspectives to move opportunities forward as one team.
  • Develop urgency by connecting customer needs to practical HVAC service solutions, including digital service offerings, sustainability, and decarbonization.
  • Use SalesForce.com and other tools to keep management informed, document activity, and maintain clear visibility into account status.
  • Ask for support early when needed so the sales process keeps moving and customer commitments stay on track.
  • Continuously refine your approach through candid feedback, strong problem-solving, and consistent improvement.
