The function of this position is to service, repair, and/or propose replacement of warm air furnaces, air conditioners, boilers, heat pumps, geothermal systems, and ductless units including related venting, piping and electrical. The technician must be able to service and startup equipment, and adjust to manufacturers' and job specifications. They must also be able to diagnose, troubleshoot, adapt, and resolve/repair all issues that arise that would keep the equipment from functioning properly. Evaluating system performance and proposing solutions to increase comfort and/or maximize equipment life and efficiency at every call is crucial. The role involves communicating to the consumer on the proper operation and owner’s maintenance of the installed equipment, answering related questions as to operation, features, and functions. Completing required documentation for each call, recording recommendations, repairs, accurate readings, equipment information including pictures and observations, obtaining customer signatures on all necessary paperwork, and collecting payments are also key responsibilities.
