About The Position

The HVAC Retro Lead will report to the Retro Field Supervisor and will assist in the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential and apartment buildings. Installations must be up to code and meet Villara's exceptional quality standards.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC Retro Lead experience
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and Insurable DMV Record
  • Ability to read blueprints and charts and designs
  • Able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to travel from job site to job site
  • Must be able to transport tools and a ladder to multiple job sites
  • Must be able to ascend ladders to heights of eight feet or higher, and descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs and inclined surfaces.
  • Able to work in high areas including rafters and roofs.
  • Able to exert physical strength necessary to move objects weighing eighty plus pounds from one level to another.
  • Leads use a Field Skills Matrix to meet job goals and expectations
  • All Villara employees are expected to work well with other team members, sub-contractors, and customers

Nice To Haves

  • EPA Refrigerant Certification (Universal or Type II)

Responsibilities

  • Install vents, duct work (flex), plenum, and registers in residential and apartment houses or buildings using hand and power tools according to code and established company procedures.
  • Measure and cut sheet metal using hand and power tools.
  • Move materials from delivery area to installation area.
  • Set and place forced air and A/C units.
  • Assemble bags of pre-assembled air handling systems by taping, caulking, and/or Panduit strapping at common attachment points according to plans.
  • Clean up all debris on the job site and sweep up sawdust.
  • Exercise caution when operating or using tools and equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Meet all labor budgets and initiate daily plans to keep within budget parameters.
  • Submit requisitions for materials to the Warehouse and schedule material deliveries to various job sites.
  • Update and maintain accurate material requisition lists, recording dates and delivery locations.
  • Manage all paperwork for “extras” ordered and assure accuracy; keep records on all extras ordered and shipped and submit to appropriate interested company personnel for billing.
  • Initiate weekly “Quality/Control” checks on jobs underway in his/her area.
  • Update and maintain accurate material lists on all active jobs.
  • Initiate “hands-on” training with all new employees.
  • Initiate safety training and keep field staff current on all safety issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.
