About The Position

Franklin & Marshall College is recruiting for a full-time HVAC/Refrigeration Technician. The HVAC Refrigeration Technician will install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance work on HVAC and refrigeration equipment on College properties. The HVAC Refrigeration Technician will ensure that support is performed in a safe, effective, timely and professional manner while striving to provide excellent customer service to all members of the F&M Community.

Requirements

Technical training or degree (Applied trades training).
At least 3 years of experience installing, maintaining and/or repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Universal Refrigerant Certificate.
Refrigerant Certification, minimum Level I and Level II.
Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
Evidence of a commitment to community & belonging.
Valid driver's license.
Successful interview.
Successful completion of background checks.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment in College buildings to include pumps, motors, air compressors, temperature controls, filters, belts, refrigeration components, piping and boilers.
Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot all types of refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
Inspect HVAC systems on a daily basis and take corrective action when a problem is identified.
Coordinate and inspect any work performed by outside contractors.
Daily monitoring of operating systems using various computerized energy management systems.
Assist project managers in the design, installation and troubleshooting of new or existing HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Perform on-call duties throughout the year.
Assist Special Work Assignment Team with College events.
Assist grounds crew with snow removal.
All other duties as assigned.
