About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic. This position is responsible for a variety of tasks relating to installation, repairs, and maintenance of HVAC systems and refrigeration units across the campus. Duties include diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and performing tasks such as cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Appropriate EPA refrigerant recycling and recovery certification for technicians (as required under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act, 1990). Southeastern requires a Type IV, Universal Certification.
• Two years of experience or training in the installation and/or maintenance of heating, ventilating, or air conditioning systems.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to be certified through the Southeastern Defensive Driving Course.
