Requirements

Two years of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, units, and equipment
Completion of a three-year Vo-Tech training program in refrigeration, HVAC, or building automation and six months experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration systems, related digitally controlled equipment, or BA systems
An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes one year of experience in the maintenance, repair, or installation of HVAC or refrigeration equipment
EPA Universal Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification from an approved provider within 6 months of employment
Must be able to perform essential job functions

Nice To Haves

Experience working with boilers, gas-fired hot air systems, heat pump and chilled water systems, and DX AC
Experience working at high altitudes on ladders
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

Responsibilities

Regulate heating and cooling equipment to maintain proper facility conditions
Supervise staff and guide repairs on boilers, chillers, pumps, valves, fittings, and related components
Maintain and repair mechanical equipment connected to boiler, chiller, and HVAC systems
Read gauges, charts, and computer controls to identify needed operational changes
Test and treat boiler, chilled water, heating, and cooling tower systems to maintain safe chemical levels
Assist with preventative maintenance, housekeeping routines, and general plant operation needs
