About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing HVAC/R equipment and Emergency Management Systems (EMS). The role involves ensuring compliance with industry regulations, maintaining quality standards, managing resources, and providing support for business solutions. The technician will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and manage workload with external service providers. Additionally, the role involves compiling budget information, submitting warranty claims, and developing scopes of work for projects. The technician will also build relationships with stakeholders, identify business needs, and implement business solutions. The position requires modeling compliance with company policies, demonstrating expertise, and completing work assignments effectively. Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls OR 4 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
  • Type I/Type II Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Certification for Refrigerant handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program
  • Mechanical license in city and/or state where job is located

Responsibilities

  • Complies with federal, state, and local heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) industry regulations and guidelines.
  • Complies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintains quality standards by inspecting installations and modifications of new HVACR equipment and Emergency Management Systems (EMS).
  • Ensures available resources for maintenance and repair by managing refrigerant levels and parts inventory.
  • Ensures working order of HVACR and Emergency management Systems (EMS) and direct digital control (DDC) by troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment.
  • Performs major and minor preventive maintenance.
  • Manages district workload with external service providers.
  • Compiles and reports budget information, requests replacement equipment, submits warranty claims, reviews journals and invoices, conducts price comparisons, and develops scopes of work for projects.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.
  • Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources.
